Giveaway for Book Week on APISS: Wackiest White House Pets from Scholastic

UPDATE: The three winners of the giveaway are Janelle, Janet and Patti. Thanks everyone for commenting!

October's election-themed children's book giveaway from Scholastic is Wackiest White House Pets by Gibbs Davis, for ages 8+. This book is a hilarious respite from the candidate's dueling positions and instead enthralls families with the amazing animals that have lived in the casablanca Presidential home.

Notable animal residents include John Quincy Adams' pet alligator in the East Room, Thomas Jefferson's two grizzly bears in a cage on the South Lawn and the dairy cow that provide portly President Taft with fresh milk from the car barn. The accounts and anecdotes are ageless and bipartisan, appealing whether you were on team Milly or Socks. Kids are bound to love Wackiest White House Pets, and the tales are sure to pique the interest of kids in the White House and Presidential election of 2008.

Cost: $11.87 for hardcover at the Scholastic online store

Leave a comment below by midnight Friday 10/24 and THREE lucky winners will be randomly selected to receive a hardcover copy! Heck, comment on any APISS Book Week post and subscribe to the RSS or email feeds for APISS or APISS Reviews for even more chances to win.

Thank you Scholastic for another awesome giveaway for readers!
